Opening Heart Energy

Chakras are energy centers in our bodies. Every time I do the Camel Pose, I feel the difference in the energy of my heart Chakra, known in Sanskrit as the Anahata chakra. Maybe I feel this way because the Camel Pose offers such good physical and emotional releases. The yoga camel pose is for opening heart chakra. This isn't the only way to open the heart Chakra, but it helps.

Yoga & Movement for Whole-Person Health

For Beginners and Those Who Want to Move Slow Yoga

My approach to yoga is grounded, practical, and respectful of faith and conscience. I teach yoga as a disciplined form of movement and breath awareness that supports physical health, balance, and attentiveness—not as a belief system or spiritual authority.

Movement, when practiced with care and intention, can support healing, reduce pain, and cultivate stillness. It can also prepare the body for prayer, rest, and focused presence in daily life.

How I Teach Yoga

I am a certified yoga teacher with a background in healthcare research. My teaching emphasizes:

Functional, accessible movement Balance, mobility, and joint health Breath awareness without metaphysical claims Support for the nervous system and stress regulation Respect for individual beliefs and boundaries

Yoga, as I teach it, is not about performance or identity. It is about stewardship of the body—honoring the physical form we have been given and caring for it responsibly.

A Faith-Respectful Approach

I do not teach yoga as a spiritual path or source of revelation. My work is grounded in the understanding that spiritual authority belongs to God, and that faith is cultivated through prayer, worship, and conscience—not through physical postures.

For those of Christian faith, yoga can be practiced as:

A form of physical care and a way to cultivate stillness and attentiveness. Yoga is also a support for prayerful presence and a practical tool for pain reduction and improved mobility

No chanting, symbolism, or metaphysical framework is required or used.

Who This Is For

My yoga and movement offerings are well-suited for individuals who want a grounded, non-esoteric approach to yoga and are managing chronic pain, stiffness, or stress. If you prefer movement framed in health rather than spirituality, and seek practices compatible with Christian faith or if you are returning to movement after illness or injury, this practice will suit you.

What You Can Expect

Sessions may include gentle to moderate movement and slow sequences. Balance and core stability work are critical. Breath awareness is incorporated in for calming and focus. Seated or resting postures may be appropriately integrated into practice.

The emphasis is always on safety, respect, and sustainability.
